Southern Vancouver Island is famous worldwide for its spectacular fishing. We have numerous types of fish that are available in these waters at different times of the year. The annual runs of transient chinook salmon start arriving in mid June, joined by large runs of migrating Pink, Coho and Sockeye salmon in mid July. The Tyee salmon, a chinook salmon weighing over 30 pounds, is found here between July and September.
